What
Is Emotional Intelligence?
Put simply, Emotional Intelligence is the ability to acknowledge our emotions,
use them positively to make a difference, manage them in a constructive
manner, relate to others constructively, and pursue goals with energy
and persistence. Rather than being a trait, Emotional Intelligence is
an applied skill that can be learned. It can also be measured, and Change
Dynamics uses QMetrics’ EQ Map to measure the Emotional Quotient
(EQ). Why
Emotional Intelligence Is Important At Work
The power of Emotional Intelligence helps create innovative products
and services, exceptional customer and employee loyalty, and lasting
competitive advantage.
High and low EQ managers and leaders impact
on the bottom line. High staff turnover, which is frequently caused
by managers with a low EQ, has a huge financial cost. Their relationships
with customers are frequently problematic. Successful leaders with a
high EQ build relationships, increase sales and profits, retain customers
and retain and develop staff.

"Between
stimulus and response, there is a space. In that space lies our freedom
and power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and
freedom"
